Just received container of Acli-Mate. The changes in my energy level are immediately recognized. I live in a hot climate and I am prepping for elevation. The supplement contains minimal carbs and while I have endurance power I’m not getting adequate carbs. I can’t use GU or similar …too much sugar. Can you recommend a carb product that may work with the Acli-Mate or would it combine to an excessive amount of electrolyte imbalance? If you can. Please advise.
Great question! First off, our Endurance product has substantial more Carbs than the Mtn Sport Drink. So I’m not sure if the Endurance you speak of is from Acli-Mate or other. But, assuming you want more carbs, here are some suggestions:
- Increase your dietary intake of carbs – crackers, fruit, dried fruit, granola bars, energy bars, etc.
- Add a brown rice or vegetable based protein powder that also contain carbs to any of the Acli-Mate products
- Add 100% juice to any of the Acli-Mate products. Ex. Yesterday I did a training road ride. I mixed 1/4 100% orange juice, then diluted to 24 oz with water and added 1 full scoop of the Mountain sport drink, orange. It was delicious and added some real fruit juice carbs.
- If you want simple carbs add the real juice or blended fruit. If you want complex carbs add maltodextrin powder. Either of these will bump up your total carb intake per serving.
As mentioned, our Endurance product contains Non-GMO, Organic Maltodextrin as well as dextrose and organic cane sugar for a nice blend of both simple and complex carbs.
